Global Studies Faculty Colloquium presents Lori Watt

As the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (1991-2000) and President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (2003-2012), Sadako Ogata, a professor of political science, connected Japan’s stances on humanitarianism, human security, and development with those of the United Nations and other organizations. An analysis of her careers provides the opportunity to explore Japan’s successes and failures in international cooperation efforts.
