Unearthing fine roots in the Ecuadorian Andes
Global Studies Colloquium
This talk explores how to understand root traits to discover plant strategies for soil exploration and resource acquisition across an elevational gradient in the Andes Mountains.
Chloe Gehret is a 3rd year PhD student in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology who has a passion for biodiversity and exploration of our natural environment. Her PhD is focused on root-soil interactions and the way they ultimate shape ecosystem function. When not digging in the soil, Chloe thoroughly enjoys summiting mountains in Latin America and going on runs in forest park.
